Chapter 29: Our Souls Hope to Return to the FatherHope comes from the Father. For our souls hope to return to the Father. And all souls shall return to the Father but not until the judgment is complete, and man's sins are paid in full.
'The first man, Adam, became soul.' (1 Corinthians 15:45) And as the soul of the first man was created by the Father, so were our souls created by the Father. For we presently bear the image of the earthly, but soon will 'bear the image of the heavenly.' (1 Corinthians 15:49) For the Father is the sustenance of our souls, for He is the living water of Life. (Psalms 54:4) And this world is a dry and desolate place, and our souls long and thirst for His living water. (Psalms 63:1) And the souls of the faithful have longed for this day, and the souls of His promise do earnestly pray, 'my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?' (Psalms 42:1-2) And who will claim our souls? For the desires of the flesh, are the shackles of Satan, and all hope is lost, to those whom he claims. And the psalmist took refuge in the Father, knowing that Satan has the power to claim, his body and soul and drag him away. (Psalms 7:1-2) For where Satan rules in the depths of his lair, there is no hope, only loss and despair. (Psalms 16:9-10) And why do we not heed the words of the Lord? 'Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.' (Matthew 10:28) And what gain is there,if you gain the world but lose your soul? (Matthew 16:25-26) Thus we must be strangers to this heathen world, and fight the desires which endanger our souls. (1 Peter 2:11) And who can save our souls? There is only one, for our hope lies in our redemption through the Father. 'For my hope is from Him.He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.' (Psalms 62:5-6) And we patiently wait for His promises, and hope to return to our Creator. (Psalms 130:5) Then He will give us our portion, for He is good to those who have patiently waited for Him, and to those who have sought Him. (Lamentations 3:24-25) And our portion shall be great indeed, for Christ has come as the High Priest, and now we may pass through the veil, and receive our inheritance from our heavenly Father. (Hebrews 6:19-20) |
